Can a former Ohio employer open priavte medical insurance mail?

medical insurance
Charles S asked:

A nonprofit organization where I worked is unhappy that I changed to a different agency and is making a noisy point of opening medical insurance documents that go to my old address. There is no possibility of a mistaken peek — my old supervisor encloses notes when he forwards the stuff. I’ve tried a personal warning but it’s clear they need to be *******. Do I start complaints at the federal, state or local level, or all three? Which agencies?

uh…none of the above?

It’s your responsibility to have your address corrected; and confidentital medical documents, unless they are identified on the front of the envelope as such,. are just junk mail to a former employee and should never have been sent to you at HIS address in the first place. Be glad he’s not just throwing them awayafter he reads them
